I have completed my Doctorate focusing on Storytelling and Teacher Education. I explored how stories and storytelling are presently used, and could be learnt in Indian context. Prior to PhD, I studied Empathy building (MPhil), Community Organisation ( MA Social Work) and Journalism (BA Hons).
I have done professional courses in Storytelling (at Emerson College, England), in Art Therapy (at Bapu Trust, Pune) and in Design Thinking and Game Design (at Massachusetts Institute
of Technology, US).
I grew up in abundance of love and care from my family, spending most of my childhood listening to stories, being in nature and in worlds of fantasy. As a grown-up I realised how influential stories have been in shaping my ideas, identity and purpose in the world.
In the last decade, I have deeply experienced learning and teaching storytelling in groups - it feels like a gift worth sharing. I have been supported immensely in this journey by my family, my mentor Prof Padma Sarangapani, fellow storytellers and countless ancestors who have preserved, and passed on the wisdom of stories.
We wish to see and support more people in using stories in homes, at work and with people they love.
