A 12 week course in Storytelling for Teachers or anyone who loves stories

Since 2018, Teachers Telling Tales has evolved into a deeply loved course in Storytelling. It all began in 2016 as a PhD action research work with teachers in Chhattisgarh. In 2021, the course was made open for all teachers as 'Storytelling with Children' facilitated by Dr Ankit Dwivedi and offered by CETE, TISS. By 2025, the course started its independent journey and was made open for people from all walks of life.

Teachers Telling Tales is now a 12 week course taught by Dr Ankit Dwivedi, offered to a small group of learners who either want to transform their communication or want to use stories at work. 

Along with educators, 33% of our learners came from all walks of life (entrepreneurs, artists, students, homemakers, elders, professionals). In contrast to the quick fix crash courses/certifications in storytelling, this 12 week course has been designed for slow transformation of one's sense of self, communication, and enabling long term practice of storytelling. It suits learners who have an intrinsic love for stories, learning and serving the world. A 3 month course in Storytelling

How can we use stories beyond the moralizing and memorizing that we are used to?

Storytelling has been found to support learning and socio-emotional well being of students, as well as teachers. This course is informed by an action research work done with teachers in India to explore how storytelling is presently used and how can teachers learn and practice more.

Drawing from research and experiential knowledge of working with children and adolescents, this course enables teachers, in-service and those who are aspiring, to re-examine their pedagogical beliefs and learn innovative practices related to stories and storytelling. .

This course is offered in two languages (Hindi, English) in three batches.
